I pull the barrel, and the slide assembly whole. I spray it all out with Rem-Oil in the aresol can, scrub the bolt face w/ a toothbrush, and wipe it all down. I swab the barrel, reassemble, and wipe down the finger-prints... Done. Never any issues, never lose a spring! Jeff

The barrel is held on by a screw just forward of the trigger guard. I generally don't take them apart anymore. I spray them with gun scrubber or throttle body cleaner, a little wd40, then clean with q-tips and a bore snake. I finish up with a few drops of lube.
